As part of the ICAR national flagship programme Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav (MGMG) also called My Village My Pride, a team of scientists of ICAR Manipur Centre, Lamphelpat, Imphal organized farmer’s scientist interaction programme at Yurembam Village located at Imphal West district. The multi-disciplinary team of scientists namely Dr. Kh. Rishikanta Singh (Sr. Scientist, Agricultural Economics), Dr. Arati Ningombam (Sr. Scientist Entomology), Dr. Ayam Gangarani Devi (Sr. Scientist, Plant Physiology), Dr. Umakanta. N (Sr. Scientist, Plant Biochemistry), Dr. T. Basanta Singh (Sr. Scientist, Soil Science) and Dr. Ch. Premabati Devi (Sr. Scientist, Horticulture) acted as resource person and deliberated on various topics which include farmer’s scheme, balance and judicious of fertilizers, soil testing, selection of climate resilient crop varieties, plant protection measures and importance of micronutrients for enhancing crops yield. As part of the programme, various critical inputs namely, RC- Maniphou rice seed, micronutrients, agro-chemicals, vermicompost and horticultural seedlings were distributed to the farmers.
